A plumb bob (sometimes referred to as a plummet) is one of the oldest, most fundamental tools in surveying work, dating back to the ancient Egyptians. Even today, they are the basic tool for determining verticality with respect to gravity, used to place an instrument over an exact point in space to accurately set markers.

• 6-inch Outage Plumb Bob. For use with outage oil gauging tapes. All plumb bobs are machined and manufactured in-house from solid brass. The eyelet at the top of each bob is precisely machined for accurate measurements. Marked plumb bobs have clearly defined black graduations for reliable and effortless readings.

Plumb-bobbing Golf Putts

A plumb bob (sometimes referred to as a plummet) is one of the oldest, most fundamental tools in surveying work, dating back to the ancient Egyptians. Even today, they are the basic tool for determining verticality with respect to gravity, used to place an instrument over an exact point in space to accurately set markers.

SECO offers a range of solid brass plumb bobs in various weights. All come with replaceable steel tips and a solid brass cap. You can even carry an extra steel tip in its convenient storage cavity.

Extra points, caps, and leather carry sheaths are sold separately.

Gammon reels for hanging plumb bobs are available separately in 6-foot and 12-foot reel cases, and feature high-visibility orange cord.

Replacement cord is also available, as are high-visibility notched marker targets.
